The one who wins the WSOP Main Event is the World Champion of Poker. The winner of the WSOP receives a WSOP bracelet and a multi-million dollar prize.
For winning a free seat it is advisable that one starts playing early as the contestants have to accumulate points over a course of 3-4 months of weekly tournaments. Two other ways of entering the tournament are: to win a seat in a lower-priced tournament as there is no ladder system to reach the top, or win an online or card room tournament and get a free seat in the tournament.
This event welcomes anyone who can afford a buy-in in the range of $1,500 to $50,000. Since 2005, the WSOP has been sponsored by Harrah’s Entertainment. to compete against each other at the Horseshoe Casino. It was first introduced by Benny Binion in 1970 who invited seven of the best poker players in the U.S. “WSOP” stands for “World Series of Poker.” It is a series of tournaments of poker which is held each year in Las Vegas. WSOP began in 1970 and WPT began in 2002.
